Savannah was invited to go clamming with her friend's family last night. They got up at 4am and drove 3 hours to Ocean Shores. They quickly got their limit, ate breakfast, and then drove home! (They're awesome!) So, Savannah brought home her 15 razor clams (which Neil and Deanna graciously dug up for her) and they taught us how to clean them. Thys got right to work and quickly cleaned all the clams.
Here's how he did it....

Dip the clams in boiling water for about 3 seconds...

Next, dip in ice water to stop them from cooking.....

The shells peel right off...

Next, try to look very intense....

Butterfly the meat, taking off all the yucky guts and black parts...

Dip them in egg and then into a flour/breadcrumb/spice mixture. Fry 'em up in bacon grease...

MMMMMmmmmmm.... They were delicious dipped in Tartar sauce mixed with hot sauce. Thanks Neil and Deanna for sharing these with us!! You're so wonderful!
